FALL COLORS RAILROAD TRIP FROM VAN BUREN TO WINSLOW
By
Nick
Dawson
Yes, we are already planning our October AOPC field trip! The reason
for the very far forward planning is because the trip involves a
popular rail trip from Van Buren to Winslow through the Boston
Mountains during fall “leaf season”. The trip is planned for
Saturday, October 18th, and the train leaves Van Buren at
11:00 a.m. I have been informed by the railroad company that this
trip is always fully booked up by June or July, hence the early
warning. If you are interested in coming on this field trip you
must book your own seats on the train. The cost is $50.93 per
person (adult coach class), including tax, and can be booked online
at
www.vanburentours.com and navigating to the Fall Colors tour on
October 18th. Don’t delay and book soon if
you are planning to be on this AOPC trip!
For
those who might not want to take the 4 hour train ride (11 a.m. to 3
p.m.) downtown Van Buren itself has some lovely Victorian
architecture and a quaint shopping area and would make a nice photo
location too.
Mike and
Beverley Cooper will be your trip leaders and we hope to see you
there.
